Der Wulfshof liegt am Ortsrand von Insel, einem Ort mit ca. 740 Einwohnern in der Nähe der Heideblütenstadt Schneverdingen. Można śmiało powiedzieć, że powstanie Archiwum Uczelni wiąże się integralnie z datą powstania Akademii Medycznej w Warszawie. W latach od 1950 do 1952 spuścizna po Wydziale Lekarskim Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego jak i akta bieżące były rozproszone, to znaczy przechowywane w komórkach organizacyjnych Akademii.
